Be Bike Friendly

Bicycle Friendly Professional (BFP™)

What is a Bicycle Friendly Professional (BFP™)?
A BFP is a professional certification that validates an individual's competency in the area of bicycle infrastructure, policy, education, enforcement, evaluation, planning and the programs in each of these areas. Obtaining a BFP will help you as an individual to be more marketable as an employee and help raise the level of expertise for your organization. Click here to read more about certification benefits.

To become a BFP™ you must complete 6 courses and pass 3 tests with a 70% or better grade. The six courses are based on the League of American Bicyclists areas of certification, better known as the 5 E's: Engineering (Parts 1 and 2) Education, Enforcement, Encouragement and Education. Each course is about 4 hours of online instruction and class work. There is homework required for each course prior to the start of class.

Our courses are comprised of the best of the best. We sought the well known experts in the field and added our own expertise to compile these comprehensive courses. No one else is offering an online set of courses that provides you with the complete set of information to be Bicycle Friendly.

To register for the first online course, Engineering Part 1, go here and we will notify you the instant registration is open. We expect the first course to be ready this spring of 2011.
